Allow Me To Introduce FKi & Nakim

For those that aren't in the know and are waiting on me to let them know, well you'll have to wait no longer. The GFC family is growing. We've been bubbling quietly, but you'll be hearing a lot more noise coming from us. Excuse me, I meant music not noise. Besides Mickey Factz, Jade, and Precize we have Nakim & FKi. These latter 2 acts are very important to the chemistry our family since they bring a varied dynamic and attitude to our sound.  Here is a new track from each of them.

Overdose On Life (Part 1) w/Travis of The Gym Class Heroes

Several weeks ago Mickey Factz leaked "Overdose On Life" as a part of his weekly leak series. The track showcasing him also featured Drake, a Canadian artist/actor of Degrassi fame and Travis McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes. The man responsible for the production and bringing all the parties involved together is Omen. If you don't know who Omen is, he's done work with Fabolous, Mya, Ludacris and most recently working with Dr. Dre (We're all still waiting for Detox). Omen will be releasing his album, Be The Judge, later on this year where "Overdose On Life" is the first single off that project.

Here, Omen will be presenting videos that will take us on a break down of the track with the artists involved. First up is your boy Travie. Check out the video below.

Well Dressed For The Art Show

Check out fellow artist, Peter Hadar, as he's released his latest album, "Well Dressed For The Art Show", which is currently being featured over at BET.com. You can never go wrong with good music that speaks to the soul, a well dressed soul at that.
Writers Block is a youth-based multimedia movement that focus on spoken word poetry and live entertainment. It is broken down into three parts: The Business, The Collective, The movement. The Business consists of young talented artists (photographers, videographers, producers, engineers, event planners/ promoters, etc) who are the brains behind the operation. The Collective is the group of poets, who function as the voice of the movement and through spoken word, addresses the issues of our generation. And The Movement are those people who identify with and support their cause .

On June 19th, 2008 they will have their anniversary event @ the Bowery Poetry Lounge in L.E.S to celebrate three years of a growing cause that focuses on the active progression of black people...and the many more to come! There will be spoken word, music by DJ Melo-X, and Faro-Z, and lots of good vibe! Join the movement!

Herfection Interviews Mickey Factz

Go over to Herfection's blog to read the mini interview she held with our own Mickey Factz. She asked some good questions...The rest of the press need to get their inquisitive game up and stop asking the same cookie cutter questions, i.e. How do you feel about the label Hipster Rap...smh
